After over 3 years the Regeneron Great Limerick Run returns to the streets of Limerick once again on May 01st as Irelands largest mass participation event outside of Dublin. Crescent Shopping Centre excitedly returns as the sponsorship partner of the Volunteers Program in a year that has all the signals of being a record year for registrations with approximately 15,000 race participants expected to register for 2022.
The Volunteer Programme is made up of volunteers from clubs across Limerick, Clare and Tipperary across multiple grassroots organisations including GAA, Rugby and athletics. Volunteers play a vital role on the day to ensure the smooth running of the event including stewardship and assisting participants from the side lines all over Limerick City.
John Davitt on the continued partnership with Regeneron Great Limerick Run;
We are delighted once again to support such an important event for Limerick City and County – following a tough few years’, it’s events like this that bring the vibrancy of the City back and create a real sense of community across all realms – we are delighted to resume sponsorship of the Volunteers Program, an important aspect of Race Day and delighted to work with local clubs at grassroots level all across Limerick City and County and further afield”
John Cleary, Race Organiser and Founder added;
Without volunteers and sponsorship this event simply cannot take place. We are hugely grateful to the Crescent Shopping Centre for sponsoring the Volunteer program at this event. This will allow many clubs to raise much needed funds through helping out on event day. This collaboration demonstrates the strength of community that permeates through this great event.
