The iconic doughnut brand celebrated its 15th Irish shop opening today at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, giving away a year’s supply of doughnuts and merchandise to lucky customers.
Thursday 25th January 2024 Today, Krispy Kreme opened its 15th Irish shop in the Crescent Shopping Centre with a joy-filled morning exuding end-of-January party excitement as people travelled across the county, queuing to be one of the first through the door in the new Limerick location.
Limerick Hurler and four-in-a-row All Ireland winner, Cian Lynch was on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon that officially marked the opening of the shop. Cian headed up a 70-strong queue of people, which began forming as early as 6 am today. At the top of the queue was Gerard O’Driscoll from Castletroy, who received a Krispy Kreme voucher meaning he will have a steady supply of his favourite Krispy Kreme flavours for the weeks ahead.
Other loyal lovers of the delicious doughnuts, made fresh daily in Ireland, were not left short of their sprinkling of joy, as the first fifty customers through the door also received free exclusive Krispy Kreme Limerick merchandise to take away with them.
Gerard O’Driscoll, first in the queue this morning said, “I’m so excited that Krispy Kreme has opened in Limerick. I won’t get to keep the voucher all for myself though, because I’ll be sharing it with my sister Aoife who got up at 5 am with me to drive me in this morning – we’re all huge Krispy Kreme fans in our house.
Commenting on the Limerick opening, Ireland Country Manager Declan Foley said, “We’re delighted to be here in Limerick this morning for the opening of our 15th Irish shop, spreading excitement and joy across Limerick. It’s great to see the support for our first shop in the county. This marks the second shop in Munster so it’s great to be expanding across the south of Ireland. It’s been such an action-packed day, and we’re so excited to welcome the people of Limerick to Krispy Kreme. There’ll be plenty of exciting offers coming up over the next few months, so make sure to keep an eye out.”
Energy remained high throughout the day with lunchtime entertainment provided by singing sensation Roe Byrne, fresh from supporting Dermot Kennedy at his charity concert just before Christmas and exhilarating high-energy performances from XOD Breakdancers.
The newest location will serve handcrafted Krispy Kreme favourites. Customers of Krispy Kreme Limerick can also enjoy the much-loved melt-in-the-mouth Original Glazed.
